16 Municipal and District Chief Executives take office in VR

The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa has on behalf of President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo handed an instrument of office to 16 Municipal and District Chief Executives at Ho in the Volta Region.

The Minister urged the MCE’s and DCE’s to take proactive action on the various development policies of the Government especially the “One District, One Factory” and “Planting for Food and Jobs” programs among others immediately to ensure total success in their Districts.

He said in order to sustain progress and development in their respective Districts, they must ensure and promote discipline, hard work, dedication, effectiveness, efficiency and transparency as required of all by the Local Government Service’s Service Delivery Standards.

Dr. Latsa charged them to offer critical leadership by considering matters of common interest to the generality of the people in their various Districts and encourage active participation of the people in the programs and activities of the Assembly.

He added that as the chief representative of the Central Government in the District, you must be adequately aware of all policies, programs and developmental agenda of the Government and be fully prepared to successfully implement those that relate to or are relevant for local governance.

Dr. Letsa reiterated that in as much as they will wish to take prompt decisions that will facilitate work and the development of the various Districts, they must nonetheless be mindful that they conform to the established laws and regulations because if they are violated, they will attract the appropriate sanctions since they are no respecter of persons.

The MCE’s and DCE’s were Kpando, Elvis Kweku Djampoh, Afadjato South, Wisdom Semanu Seneadza, Central Tongu, Thomas Moore Zonyrah, Ho Central, Nelson Akorli, Ho West, Ernest Victor Apau, and Jasikan, Lawrence Aziale.

Others are Kadjabi, Maxwell Kofi Asiedu, Keta and Seth Yormewu Ketu North, Anthony Avorgbedor, Ketu South Edem Elliot Agbewornu, Krachi East, Patrick Jilima.

The rest are Krachi Nchumuru, Appiah Augustine, Krachi West Douglas Osei Nti, Nkwanta North, Jakayi Jackson, Nkwanta South John Thasun, and North Dayi, Kudjo Edmund Attah.

The DCE of North Dayi, Kudjo Edmund Atta on behalf of his colleagues pledged their readiness and promised to do all within their power to raise the flag of Volta Region high.
