The Minister for Aviation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has given her full support to Origin8, the official event organiser for the maidenAerospace and Aviation Exhibition for Africa to be held from 24 to 26, October 2017 to plan and organise a successful event.
Mrs. Dapaah also charged Origin8 to ensure that it raises enough funds to run the event as well as plan, execute and coordinate a perfect event to promote the aviation industry in Ghana and the image of the country internationally.
The Minister gave her support on Wednesday May 10 when Origin8 team was officially introduced to her and directors of the Ministry as the company raising funds to run the event in October.
“You have my 100% support to plan and organise this event. But you must pay attention to every detail to ensure that everybody feels comfortable at the event” because the image of Ghana is at stake.
Mrs. Dapaah added that the President, Nana Akufo-Addo has been informed about the upcoming event and thus expects nothing but the best.
She further assured the team that President Nana Akufo-Addo will officially open and tour the show when everything is ready onOctober 24 this year.
She noted that the Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition is the first in the Sub-Region and Africa as a whole, hence effort must be made to ensure that the image of Ghana is projected high to attract foreign direct investors.
The Minister further advised the team to reach out to the Ministries of Trade and Industry, Business Development and Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts as well as the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre to support the event.
She further requested for a detailed schedule of activities with confirmed dates from Origin8 to enable her monitor the progress of work from now to the end of the event.
The Minister was supported by her deputy, Mr. Kwabena Darko-Mensah and two directors of the Ministry as well as the lead consultant for the Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition, Mr. Kwesi Taylor.
Chief Executive Officer of Origin8, Mr. William Yaw Ansah on his part briefed the Minister and her team about how Origin8 was going to secure sponsorship and create awareness for the event.
Mr. Ansah added that meetings were underway with key stakeholders including the media to raise funds and secure their support for the event.
Mr. Taylor also assured that Minister and her team that effort will be made to ensure that the image of Ghana is projected high through this maiden event.
Origin8, Ghana’s only true Integrated Marketing Communications Company, was recently named the official event organizer for the maiden Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition for Africa.
Origin8 shall represent the Organizing Committee of the African Airshow and conduct the necessary negotiations and correspondence from now to the end of the show in October.
In accordance with the agreement between the two parties, Origin8 will seek for sponsorship, plan and execute all marketing communications activities as well as plan, execute and manage the 3-day event.
The African Air Expo is the maiden Air Expo to be organized in Ghana and the Sub-Region. The event is expected to attract professionals in the aviation industry, including private individuals from Africa and other parts of the world to discover the industry’s latest developments and innovations.
The event will also involve seminars/conference, exhibition of different types of aircraft, as well as support services of the aviation industry and many more.
