The Adutso family of Teinor We, Osu in the Greater Accra Region has exposed residents of Abokobi who demonstrated against them (Adutso family) and an Estate developer in the area.
On March 9, 2019, residents of Abokobi went on a demonstration against the Adutso family alleging that the family, has in connivance with one Ibrahim Jajah demolished their properties in the area.
At a press conference held in the area by the Adutso family, GhanaNewsOnline.com.gh gathered that the ‘demonstrating residents’ rather bought their lands from another family and for fear of losing their properties they demonstrated to embarrass Mr. Jajah.
The Adutso Teinor We and Odartey Sro families both from Osu, litigated at the Accra High and Appeal’s Courts for the ownership of about 593 acres of Abokobi Lands for years.
To this effect, the Adutso family dispelled the untruths and other false information in the public domain regarding the ownership of the Abokobi Lands. They also cleared the name of Ibrahim Jajah.
According to Fred Brown, the spokesperson for the Adutso family, aside from the rulings of the Accra High Court and the Appeal’s Court, the Supreme Court also ruled in favour of the family as rightful owners of the 593 acres of Abokobi Lands.
In the available judgment, the Supreme Court affirmed the ruling of the Appeal’s Court ruling in favour of Aku Brown Danquah, head of Adutso family on June 29, 2016 with suit No/J4/4/2016.
The press conference further explained that all the Court rulings indicated that the Adutso family are entitled to recover possession of the disputed Abokobi Lands, 593 acres from the Odatey Sro family.
The judgment also ordered Lands Commission and Land Title Registry to expunge the plotting and registration of Odartey Sro family from the records and replace with Adutso family, spokesman hinted.
Fred Brown stated that following the ruling, Adutso family gave the Abokobi ’demonstrating residents’ the chance to call on Adutso family for the regularization of their document, especially those who bought their lands from Odartey Sro family, but they refused.
