The Coach of the Ghana Amputee Football national team, Ali Jarra, has called players to residential camping at the Hockey Pitch in Accra ahead of the Amputee Football World Cup.

This is a switch from the non-residential camping that was adopted by the management of the team to reduce expenses.

Ghana is billed to play Argentina, France and Italy in Group B at the Amputee Football World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 24 to November 5.

Ahead of the call to camp, Coach Ali Jarra made a passionate appeal to the entire nation to rally support for the team, to boost their morale.

“The team is poised to win this year’s world cup and this can only be achieved if we all come together to support the players materially,  financially and morally,” the former Black Stars goalkeeper stated.

“I am appealing to you all to come to the Hockey Pitch to encourage the boys as we all prepare to make Ghana proud this year. It is our year and we all must make it happen,” he appealed.

Ghana is expected to be among the semi-finalists of this year’s competition and some pundits see them as potential winners of the trophy.
