A post-mortem examination has found Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School tutor, Vida Frema’s death as “hanging”, police in the Ashanti Region have said.
This comes after relatives of the deceased called for further investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of their daughter.
“An autopsy report has indicated cause of death as hanging”, a statement signed by the deputy Ashanti Regional Police chief DCOP Fred Adu Anim on Friday, February 2, 2018 indicated.
“…some stomach content from the deceased has been given to the Ghana Standards Authority for analytical test since there is an indication that the deceased might have taken in some poison before hanging herself”, the statement added.
Vida Frema, a thirty-year-old tutor at the Home Economics Department of the Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School was found dead at the Konongo Low Cost residence of Sergeant Bright Opoku Yeboah of the Konongo Divisional Headquarters.
Reports say the police officer who had left the deceased in her room and left for work returned on the same day to find her hanging in his bedroom dead.
The police officer who was arrested the same day has since been granted bail to report for further action.
Her family, however, suspects foul play.
