The National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Captain Joshua Akamba, has stated that an opportunity to represent a constituency in Parliament is not an inheritance that should be passed on to relatives when one is no more.
He said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and it’s candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election, Lydia Alhassan, who is the third wife of the late MP, Kyeremanteng Agyarko have started informing the constituents that her late husband has promised her that She would become the next MP for the area after him.
Speaking at the official launch of the campaign of Delali Kwasi Brempong, the NDC’s candidate for the by-election, Akamba said “President Nana Akufo-Addo once told Ghanaians that his father promised him that one day he (Nana Akufo-Addo) would become the President of Ghana. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have seen what has become of that promise, a total disaster of the Akufo-Addo performance. Let the NPP know that MPship is not an inheritance for family members”.
He said the challenges of the constituency demands a personality with foresight and that all that and more can be found in candidate Delali Kwasi Obrempong.
