Ahead of the 31st National Farmers Day Celebration which is expected to be marked across the country, the Bekwai Municipality will have theirs on Tuesday November 28, 2017 instead of December 1, 2017. This is due to the hosting of the National event in the Ashanti region.
Bosomtwe Rural Bank Ltd has donated 10 spraying machines, 2 boxes of cutlasses and 2 boxes of Wallington boots to the municipal assembly to help them to appreciate the farmers.
Lawyer Osei Boateng, who is the vice board chairman of the bank said it is their social responsibility and since they work with most of the farmers, this is what they are doing to help.
He advised other banks to assist farmers by giving them loans to support their farm work.
The Municipal Agriculture officer, Mr. Mensah who received the items on behalf of the assembly thanked the bank for the donation.
He said they are in need of such items prior to the farmers day celebration. He also pleaded with other institutions to support them. He assured that they are fully prepared for the program come Tuesday.
