The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) has elected a united Executive Committee Board after two solid years of a divided student front. The event took place today Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Kwame Nkrumah Water Gardens at Circle, (formerly Obra Sport) , Accra.
After several years of student political confrontations suffered by the Union, National Executive Members and NEC Members and the entire Institutions have finally resolved to end the long held impasse. The election was organized under the auspices of the Co-Coordinating Secretary, Tetteh Djem Bismark, also known as ‘Man In White’ and Antwi Ernest MvCasland, assisted by the Executive Committee of GUPS.
The newly elected Executive Committee is led by GABSON EBENEZER GAKPO as the PRESIDENT.
The other executives include OSEI KWAME WISE – GENERAL SECRETARY,
TREASURER – YEBOAH KINGSLEY, FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – STANLEY EMMANUEL TOKOH, COORDINATING SECRETARY – IDDI SHERIFATU, etc.
The new President in his acceptance speech intimated that he is committed to ensuring a tremendous and a extremely satisfying union that will champion and propel the greater interest of Professional Students in the country.
“Our beloved Union has been bedeviled with a plethora of impasses over the years which has become a bigger bane within our professional fraternity. We are therefore committed to ensuring a Union that will champion the course of our beloved Union,” he assured.
