The Honorable Member of Parliament for the Tema West constituency, Carlos Ahenkorah, who is also the deputy minister for trade and industry, has started distribution of about 2,000 pieces of dual desks to some government schools in his constituency.
The distribution is as a result of the identification of some sitting challenges facing the government schools in the constituency.
Mr Ahenkorah, early this year tasked his 2016 campaign manager, Nana Boakye, to conduct a need gap analysis of all public schools in the constituency.
The analysis revealed that one of the major problems facing the public schools was student to desk ratio which is currently between 3 to 4 children per dual Desk.
Report submitted to the MP compelled him to launch “Two Student Per Dual Desk Campaign”.
The campaign was to purchase 2,000 pieces of dual desks and distribute to the all public schools in the Constituency.
The first beneficiary to the 2,000 dual desk is Sakumono Village TMA primary and JHS which received 100 pieces of the desks and some teaching and learning materials.
