The Civil and Local Governments Staff Association of Ghana (GLOGSAG), has been served with interlocutory injunction from the Accra High Court restraining them from proceeding with their Eastern regional election which was scheduled for today, Thursday, November 8, 2018.
The injunction came about when the lawyers for the embattled Regional Chairman of the Association, Rev. Asante Wiafe sought the Court’s permission to prevent the said elections.
According to the suspended, Rev. Asante Wiafe allowing the election to go on means he is accepting the disenfranchising moves being planned by some people with the sole agenda to prevent him from contesting in the regional elections. He is demanding for his immediate reinstatement.
Rev. Asante Wiafe earlier this year was suspended with immediate effect and until further notice by the National Executives Committee over a press release he issued somewhere last year, calling on the government to pay members of the Association their long overdue arrears and the one time premium.
