The Police are on a manhunt for the Brand Manager of Distell Ghana Limited over assault.

Mr Isaac Mensah has been summoned to report to the Lapaz police station for questioning over allegations of assaulting a journalist who was investigating a story of unwholesome Savanna and Hunters alcoholic drinks on the Ghanaian market.

Isaac Mensah who had impersonated himself as Ali Dawud, reached the journalist, Raphael Apetorgbor, who was investigating the issue on phone and proposed to meet up to address the issue.

At an open rendezvous in Lapaz, a suburb of Accra, this Dawud guy demanded to be shown the bar where the expired products were on sale.

As guilty manufacturers tend to rush in to clear traces of expired products before the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) can go in and verify, the journalists, Raphael and his colleague, Stan Assor who were investigating the matter refused to be persuaded to show the bar in question to Dawud.

This led to Isaac Mensah publicly manhandling Raphael Apetorgbor at Lapaz, shoving and punching his chest. He also accused all the journalists investigating the matter as criminal, fraudsters and Sakawa boys.

It had to take Stan Assor to physically intervene to ensure that his colleague was not hurt to dangerous proportions by the physically attacking Isaac Mensah alias Ali Dawud guy from Distell Ghana Limited.

Information gathered from police sources indicate that, Isaac Mensah was asked by the police to report himself at the station on November 14, 2017  but he sought for an excuse so as to be accompanied by his lawyers on November 22, 2017, but he failed to turn up whilst the complainant turned up at the police station.

This unfortunate incident led to the police rescheduling another meeting which was suggested by the accused on phone and was also in agreement with the complainant, Raphael Apetorgbor for both parties to report on November 28, 2017.

The accused again dodged the meeting and failed to give notice or response to calls placed to him by the police.

Police sources said efforts to apprehend the suspect is proving futile but they are optimistic he would make himself available for questioning immediately to avoid arrest.

However police source said the police will be left with no other option but to hunt him down if he keeps dodging their meeting
