A Youth Activist, Nii Ayi Adamah has described the Minister of Fisheries and Aqua-Culture Development, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, as a disgrace to the chiefs and the people of Krowor/Nungua.
In a statement issued in Accra, Nii Ayi indicated that President Akufo-Addo rewarded her with ministerial position due to the massive votes she got for the NPP in the 2016 general elections in that area.
He discribed the Fisheries Minister, as a disgrace to the people of Krowor following her alleged involvement in the diversion of about 240 trucks of Premix fuel meant to power fishing boats in the Coastal areas of which Nungua is part.
According to him, the premix fuel was diverted to some pump stations in the country and sold to unsuspecting motorists to illegally enrich themselves.
Nii Ayi Adamah alleged the Minister, Mrs. Elizabeth Afoley Quaye appointed her blooded brother, Joseph Botchwey as the Acting (Ag) administrator of the National Premix Fuel Committee (NPFC) and this resulted in massive scandal.
After the scandal, Mrs. Afoley Quaye quickly replaced the brother, indicating there was an agenda prior to his appointment, he alleged.
The Youth Activist, Nii Ayi, further indicated that in dealing with the people of Krowor she represents in parliament, Mrs. Afoley Quaye has ignored the majority of the indigenes but deals with outsiders.
In addition, he alleged the Fisheries Minister refused to respond to letters written to her and the brother, Joseph Botchwey, chairman of the NPFC from February to November 2017 by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and also refused to take steps to stop the diversions.
According to him, Mrs. Elizabeth Afoley Quaye is the first female MP of Krowor and a minister which to him (Nii Ayi), should have taken the advantage of the position to the benefit of the people of Krowor constituency.
