Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ledzorkuku Krowor Assembly (LekMA). Daniel Amartey Mensah, has said he is expecting a favourable political history in his life after the forthcoming Greater Accra Regional NDC delegates’ conference.
The former MCE who has filed to contest the Greater Accra Regional NDC chairmanship position for the second time, says he saw there would be a miracle after he picked number one slot on the ballot paper.
He explained that it is a repetition of a number when he was contesting for the National Executive position where he picked number 1, and won with over 2000 votes among other thirteen (13) contestants.
The Lord has given me the grace to pick No. 1 again; meaning this marks the beginning of the new things to come to the Greater Accra Regional NDC, asserted Mr. Amartey.
“…I have gone round the 34 constituencies to share my experiences I had in various elections where I won, and the kind of transformation I brought to bear, and I promised that if the delegates voted for me to become the new GA Regional chairman we would be able to recapture all the lost seats and increase the number of votes for the party in the region,” he assured.
Armartey who would not disclose his vision to this portal for strategiec reasons, said “I know Greater Accra is so important to the NDC, we can win seven regions but without GA Region we cannot capture power; statistics show that Greater Accra is one of the regions that have the biggest constituencies. So political parties should not joke with it,” he pointed out.
The former LekMA MCE recounted that four years ago he lost the position by 17 votes to the incumbent who is also the current Regional Chairman, Ade Coker. However, he said this time around, he knows God will be on his side to win big.
He said by the time he finishes moping ups his campaign, delegates in the 34 constituencies would come to terms with his plans for them and the Region.
