The National Secretariat of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana, (GRASAG) in collaboration with the Scholarships Secretariat has successfully installed an online electronic Application to enable students apply for their annual thesis and bursary grants from the government.
The Application would be the new medium for bursary application and payments of the Scholarships Secretariat and Graduate Thesis and bursary grants.
The President of GRASAG, Kwame Bonah Osafo-Ampomah, who led the implementation process said, this new initiative will ease the burden and create a form of paperless system in both the secretariat and GRASAG offices.
“This has come to ease the burden of both the Scholarships Secretariat and GRASAG employees who finds it difficult to deal with piles of papers for students during registration,” he stated.
“This will allow many eligible graduate students to apply for the research grants easily through the online electronic application” he noted.
He emphasied that, the online electronic application would enables all eligible graduate students to sign-up using their login details whiles enabling them to complete their profile with adequate information.
He also emphasized that, the electronic application would support the electronic payments of the thesis and bursary grants of students through their respective bank accounts.
Kingsley Agyemang, the registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat also expressed delight for such innovation, indicating that the online portal would save the institution some time and strength required to vet and approve payments of bursaries.
“The new electronic application will also ensure prompt payments of research grants directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries to reduce the number of complaints from students,” he added.
The leadership of GRASAG therefore calls on all eligible graduate students to take advantage of the online application to apply for the bursaries due them.
