The Member of Parliament for the Yunyoo constituency, Joseph Bipoba Naabu, has revealed that the alleged endorsement for ex President John Dramani Mahama by a group of MPs in Parliament was a trick played on unsuspecting Parliamentarians.

Naabu explained that MPs were asked to write their names to enabled them participate in a debate on the floor of Parliament.

Naabu who is an ardent Rawlings follower and a spokesman for the Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin for President campaign described the assertion of some 94 MPs endorsement of ex-President Mahama as a fallacy.

Speaking exclusively to The Punch newspaper, the out spoken Yunyoo politician debunked the assertion on the front page of the Daily Post newspaper that he was approached to endorse John Mahama.

“Three members of Mahama’s supporting MPs came to my office to demand for my signature but I walked them out  and told them that am for Bagbin as NDC flagbearer”

Naabu mentioned the names of the three MPs as John Jinapor, MP for Yapei Kusawgu, Tanko Ibrahim Abdul-Rauf, MP for Yagaba/Kubore and Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, MP for Lower Manya Krobo. He said he disappointed them by turning down their request.

Joseph Naabu said a vote for former President Mahama will be politically suicidal for the NDC’s agenda of winning power in 2020.

“Even in my constituency, they can’t convince anyone to vote for Mahama how much more me. These JM boys should stop this negative propaganda. On the day of elections, all these boys will sleep early” he stated.
