Says she is ready for National Vice Chairperson position

An aspiring National Vice person for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Agnes Asangalisa Chigabatia, has indicated that she does not only have all the virtues to hold that position, but also, she has the “can do spirit” as well as the fertilizer to nurture the party to enable it cling onto power in 2020 and beyond.

Also, she has a high sense of responsibility, a good team work spirit, integrity and humility and she is humble and affable.

She stated that with power in the hands of the party now, all that they need is competent, approachable, humble, tolerant, dynamic and hardworking people to protect and sustain the power.

Besides that, the party needs a fertilizer, an energizer to rekindle the spirit of the grass roots for the sustenance of power for a long period.

Subsequently, she implores the hardworking and committed delegates to vote for her in the forthcoming party elections. “I am now seeking your mandate to become your National vice chairperson. So help me, my beloved NPP people. I salute you,” she intimated

Hon Chigabatia made this known in an interview with newsmen last week. She pointed out that if elected to that high office, she will, with humility as usual, serve the people and not lord over them.

Rather she will make available to the party she loves so much, her vast experience to enable the party rise and shine in victory.

Hon Chigabia has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bulsa North Constituency in the Upper East Region for two terms. She has also been the Upper East Deputy Regional Minister before and the first woman to be democratically elected as Regional Chairperson for the Upper East Region. She also was a member of the NPP Upper East campaign team in 2016; working very hard in Navrongo Central, Builsa South during the campaign time. She has also held many managerial positions in various institutions.

She pointed out that with this vast experience, she has come to terms with nagging problems facing the grass roots. It is for this reason and many more that she is vying for the position in order to strengthen, energize and fertilize them to enable them generate funds on their own without necessarily relying on government and party resources.

Hon Chigabatia declared that being outside the ring, she cannot make her good plans and policies manifest, hence her quest for that position. “I cannot punch from outside the ring!” she declared.

“If elected, which through God’s grace, I will, I will work together with other elected National Executives for the party to ensure the good welfare of members of the great NPP. The battle is the Lord’s! “She exclaimed.

Hon Chigabatia noted that the party and the country have only one President in the person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice president, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, a former president John Agyekum Kufour and one Speaker, Rt. Hon Aaron Mike Ocquaye.

She noted that it therefore needs the support of all party members to rally behind these people especially the president to enable him achieve his laudable policies such as “ 1 constituency, 1 factory, 1 village one dam” and many more, without anybody  sitting on the fence folding his arms.

According to Hon Chigabatia, the question of factionalism in the party is a farce and should therefore be discarded by all peace loving NPP members to help move the party forward in unity. She mentioned that the alleged factionalism in the party was perceived by only doom Sayers of the party. These people, she said, should be avoided at all cost.
