A National Democratic Congress (NDC) Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman hopeful, William Vinyo, has emphasized that when given the nod he will work hard to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC in the 2020 elections. He says if he should fail to achieve good results he will not seek for a second term as vice chair in the region.
In an interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh in Accra, Vinyo, affectionately called ‘V-Power’ explained that it was the NDC youth who called on him to go for the regional Vice chair position, the party’s defeat in the 2016 general elections.
He said the call was due to his leadership qualities and his command at the grassroots level which can be of immense benefit to the NDC.
Vinyo, who went through the miil in a number of constituencies to become a constituency chairman for the Obom-Domi-Abra, a suburb of Greater Accra Region, said almost all constituencies are denied logistics to carry out party activities in their areas.
This and other things he promised would be a thing of the past because he has identified that as a major problem and he will tackle it when given the nod.
V-Power, who says he has lots of strategies for the NDC in the region also promised to pay unannounced visits to constituencies for firsthand information for redress. He hinted that during his tenure as constituency chairman in Obom-Domi-Abra, there has been total unity among the party people and he will bring similar strategy to the region to unite all 34 constituencies ahead of the 2020 elections.
Adding, he said, “…No wonder the youth and the NDC fraternity in all the constituencies i served are demanding that i go for the regional vice chairmanship position with my leadership qualities”.
To this effect, he has also appealed to delegates to vote for him if they really want the constituencies in the Greater Accra Region to succeed in recovering all the lost seats.
