A Tamale based NPP youth activist, Abdul Hak, has likened the return of former President John Dramani Mahama to the fight between a rat and a lion.
“The return of the former president is inappropriate and is like a rat fighting a lion. We will beat him”, Halik opinioned.
Mr Halik said this to drumbeatsgh.com’s correspondent David Larweh.
According to him, when such a battle ensues, the lion has a simple fight since the rat is no match to it.
“Mr. Mahama has nothing to offer the people of Ghana and should not have made this decision to return to the flagbearer race,” he stated, adding that the NPP will defeat him in the 2020 election if Mr. Mahama finally becomes the flagbearer after the NDC Congress.
“We defeated him when he was a sitting president and had all at his disposal.”
“His records of massive corruption and incompetence is clear for the people of Ghana to see,” Halik continued.
He suggested that the NDC should rather rally behind a new person who had fresh blood and could do more for the party.
“There are better candidates like Professor Joshua Alabi, Alban Sumana Bagbin, and Spio-Gabrah who should be given the chance to save the party,” he opined.
He said the president of Ghana Nana Addo is doing more for the country and the people of Ghana will not want to cut short the massive development.
Mahama declared his intention to join the flagbearership race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday August 23, 2018 after several calls on him by some party supporters.
