The Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Okaikoi Central Constituency, Ibrahim Osumanu, has charged all members if the party, most especially branch executives of his Constituency to ensure the implementation of “operation win your branch” for the Party come 2020 general elections.
“I entreat all branch executives to revamp their bases and recruit members for the Party to wrestle and win power from the ruling NPP at the branch levels within the Okaikoi Central Constituency,” he said in a statement.
He said though the NDC lost the 2016 elections in the constituency by some 7,250 votes for the presidential and 10,875 votes for the parliamentary, there are brighter times ahead.
“We lost all the previous 5 electoral areas constitute the constituency to the NPP in 2016 but this time, we’ll win 6 electoral areas out of the existing 8 electoral areas with the help of our vigorous branch executives and the entire members,” Osumanu stated
Hr believes that with the current state of the country, Ghanaians are yearning for the return of the NDC due to the difficulties and harsh living conditions.
“The super incompetent president Nana Akufu-Addo and his 111 ministers together with 1,600 presidential staffers have failed and made our education system like traffic light where green means GO and yellow/gold means get READY.
“We’re likely to experience triple and quadruple track systems of education under Nana Akufo-Addo in the next 1 or 2 years to come. The Nana Akufo-Addo lead government has really put our economy in turmoil, Education boring and infrastructure/development stagnant, that Ghanaians can’t tolerate and give them a second chance of administration,” he noted, adding that “Commercial drivers can no longer buy fuel while the dollar overrides the cedi ($1=4.76cedis), among others”.
The vibrant Communication Officer for the opposition party said due to the failure of the NPP’s campaign promises in the 2016 elections, both President Nana Akufo-Addo and vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia qualify for the title “419 grandmasters, they are threats to Ghanaians. Ghanaians are expecting the fulfillment of the promises of 1 village 1 dam, 1 district 1 factory, 1 constituency 1 million dollars and the Zongo development fund”.
“With the implementation of the all hands on deck agenda, I wish to urge all our branches to adopt an all inclusive leadership style to make the NDC attractive to others”
He is of the view that this is one great move that will bring back our the party’s lost thumbs.
