On Saturday, March 9, 2019, the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago (GNC), presented the “President’s Excellence Award” to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder of “Mr. Candy Ghana”, Musah Trawill. This was during a dinner session to mark Ghana’s 62nd Independence Anniversary. It was held at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, 780 N. Ave Glendale Heights IL, 60139.
It was in recognition for Mr. Candy Ghana’s dedication and commitment to the GNC. The Council thanked the brand “Mr Candy Ghana” for the willingness and assistance in building a strong Ghanaian community both in Chicago and Ghana.
He was awarded on the same platform with seven others including Illiasu Tamanjah of Haske Muslim Community of Chicago as a Council Member of The Excellence Award; Kofi Cormwell received the Excellence in Fine Art Award; Felicia Apprey–Agyare received the Community Changers of Excellence award; Berko Akoto received the Achievement of Excellence Award; A.C Eddie-Quartey received the Pioneer of Excellence Award; Francis Duah received Supporter of Excellence Award; and Nana Efua Dansoaa received the Royal Excellence Award.
The event displayed the richness of the Ghanaian culture with dancing, music, and an award ceremony for members of the community.
In an interview, Musah Trawill, dedicate the award to his mother, Auntie Doris, his wife, fans, Vorha Family, and all his loved ones. He urged the youth to exercise PATIENCE and “be strong and endure because success in anything does not come easily, because easy stuff do not last,” he stated.
He shared the secrets of his 10 years successful career to include patience, planning, focus with the belief that there are better days ahead. He edged the youth not to adopt the mindset of blaming their leaders because “We the youth of today are the change we are looking for, support do not always come from familiar people, together we can make the change by working hard to make the better future for our next generation.
On January 21, 2019, Musah Trawill, a professional Brand Builder who is also the CEO of Sweet Mother Candy & Beyond Company Limited – An Upscale Confectionery Business located in Ghana), and Founder of Mr. Candy Ghana Company, a Certified Entrepreneur, a Business Marketer who is Currently Managing a 23 Years America Distribution Company in Chicago; a Multiple Award Winner, a Member of the NCA of Washington D.C., the Public Relations Officer of Ghanaian Professionals of North America in Chicago and a Public Relation Officer and Member of Haske Muslim Community in Chicago U.S.A, as well as the Patron of Go Kurative Africa (GOKA) an N.G..O organization located in Ghana, received an award in his office by the office of Howards B. Brookins Jr with, 27th District State Representative including Justin Slaughter, 4th District Cook County Commissioner – Stanley Moore, of Chicago. It was the 2018 MOST VALUABLE PLAYER Award (MVP) in recognition of his outstanding & dedication to 21st Ward Community snice the year 2015.
#Candy Ghana donated winter wears and toys to Haske Muslim Community in Chicago U.S.A – in the year 2018 alongside donating winter wears and toys to the Mayor of Harvey Illinois , Mayor of Dolton Illinois, as well as other private organizations .
He also hosted his 2018 Talent and Creative Art Festival in Accra – Ghana on December 1, 2018, on the theme – “Learning to safeguard creativity” where he gave out free laptops to selected school children and also paid their school tuition, free school supplies.
