The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Manhyia North Constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwa, has describe the Minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs in parliament as an embarrassment to opposition parties across the world.
He stated this in Parliament Sunday during an interview with ghananewsonline.com.gh shortly after The Rt. Hon. Mike Aaron Oquaye was sworn in as Acting President of Ghana.
He was reacting to the performance of the minority group in parliament over the last one year.
He said in years past Speakers of Parliament have assumed the position of Acting President in the absence of an elected President and so, to him, it is mind boggling why the current NDC in opposition is seeking to take issues with Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye’s swearing in as Acting President.
“I wonder whether they (Minority Group) sometimes wash their faces upwards,” he stated.
According to him the Minority group is suffering from retentive memory and that to him is the reason why they at times do things the way they do it.
He was also of the view that it was not necessary for the minority to have asked Parliament to investigate the Cash-for-Seat saga, insisting that “It is not always that the opposition must oppose everything” because they are in opposition.
