Forty nine persons have as at 8pm on Monday July 16, 2018 picked forms at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Central Regional (CR) office to contest for various positions in the party’s upcoming regional executives elections.
This was revealed by the party’s regional director of elections, Nurudeen Kobinah Issah, in an interview with Elmina-based Ahomka Fm’s Monday night political show, Agenda, hosted by Deladem Kisseih and monitored by ghananewsonline.com.gh.
“Dela, as i speak to you, because of the bad governance of the NPP, am marveled and impressed about the number of our members who want to contest in the upcoming elections to help defeat them (NPP).
“As at the time I was closing from the office this evening, 49 individuals had come to pick up forms to contest the various positions; yes 49, only today (Monday) I don’t know what will happen tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday,” Issah explained.
The NDC on Monday, July,16, 2018, opened nomination for their regional executive positions and is expected to be closed on Wednesday, 18th July, 2018.
Kofi Adams, the party’s National organizer, told citi news that all contestants are expected to present their forms to the party offices by the close of Tuesday, 24th July, 2018 for the election to take place on 18th August, 2018.
However, Mr Issah said the elections will be held on the 25th August, 2018.
He then appealed to the hopefuls to refrain from verbal attacks during their campaign.
” I am appealing to all the contestants to refrain from insults. As we all know that our common enemy in the NPP, the party which has made the living very hard for Ghanaians, so why do we attack ourselves, for what?….. This is not the time to fight your colleague NDC member, so this is not the time to paint your colleague black…….we are one family”. he advised.
