Newly-elected MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan has finally visited the 37 Military Hospital to console the victims of the election violence of her constituency
She donated 5000ghc to support the treatment the sixteen victims who are said to be supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Her visit comes a day after she was tagged “a bloody widow” amid boycott by the minority during her swearing in parliament.
Lydia Alhassan contested and won her late husband, Emmanuel Agyarko’s in an election which was boycotted by the NDC.
Sixteen people suffered brutalities from masked men believed to be members of the NPP during last Thursdays election to elect a new replacement for the late MP, Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
Accompanying her to the hospital were some members of the NPP, who equally console the victims of the shooting incident that took the shine off the election.
She was sworn into office on Tuesday, as Ghana’s parliament gets an additional female member- 25 in all.
However, following some disturbances at La Bawaleshie, one of the over 130 polling centres, the NDC says they would not recognize the new MP.
The minority have accused her of failing to condemn the bloody incident the very election that brought her to power.
