Nightmare in broad day light

During the 2016 election, a young military officer and a team were assigned to the Weija-Gbawe constituency to handle the delicate security situation which was presumed to might escalate because of the violence that pre-charaterised the campaign process.

That was the first day I met this noble young man, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama. I must admit I admired his professionalism and sense of neutrality.

Captain Adam Mahama and his men, managed to bring the very delicate security situation in the Weija-Gbawe constituency to a peaceful end. Indeed, Weija-Gbawe was one of the most peaceful constituencies during the 2016 election.

I felt so sad seeing his gore pictures on social media this morning, my heart really aches that such pictures especially the nude pictures are being circulated.

It’s not easy loosing a loved one through such a tragic circumstance, but more so waking up to see his or her naked pictures circulating on social media. Did we pause to ask ourselves how his wife and kids would feel? How his siblings, family members and friends would feel about the naked pictures we are circulating on social media?

If this had happened to a relative or even a friend, would you have felt comfortable sharing those pictures?

To add insult to injury, people have already started politicising it, the tagging has started, he was an NDC boy, he was an NPP boy. What has the crime these faceless people committed got to do with politics, what has the precious life lost got to do with NDC and NPP?

Where has our sense of morality and judgement gone to? This is not right in any dispensation, It is simply wrong and absurd

My condolences to the wife and kids of the noble young man in uniform. While i urge the security services to endeavor to bring those culprits who committed this wicked and heartless act of barbarism to book. May your gentle soul find rest with your maker.
