The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened nominations for constituency, branch and chapter positions of the party.
The primaries have been slated to start from February 21st to the 24th, 2018.
The Acting General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, at a press conference in Accra said the election will be supervised by the Electoral Commission of Ghana and the Constituency Elections Committee.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the elections shall be conducted under the supervision of the Electoral Commission of Ghana as well as the Constituency Elections Committee,” he said. He also spelt out the rules and regulations to governing the primaries. “No prospective aspirant shall be denied access to procure applicant form,” he stated.
Vetting results shall be released not later than three days to the election date
The Constituency Album shall be used as the register for the conduct of the elections
Positions to be contested include Constituency Chairperson, Constituency 1st Vice Chairperson, Constituency 2nd Vice Chairperson, Constituency Secretary, Constituency Treasurer, and Constituency Organiser.
“Having spelt out these rules and regulations on behalf of the party, I now have the singular honour and privilege to declare nominations for the various constituency executive positions duly openned,” he added.
