…Scholarships Scheme lunched to support tertiary students
NUGS, joined the Iran-Ghana University Students Association on Saturday to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Iranian Revolution; a revolution premised on a call for equity, probity and justice.
The NUGS President, Leader Amoakohene Frank in his speech congratulated the people of Iran and IGUSA on the historic moment and charged the gathering to translate the occasion into addressing any challenges that may confront the people of Iran and the world at large.
The event which saw members of the Diplomatic Community, National House of Chiefs and Officials from the Government of Ghana was held at the Kwame Nkrumah Hall of the University of Ghana.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Dr. Ziblim Iddi, on behalf of the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, delivered a speech adding the Government of Ghana’s voice to the call and celebration.
As part of the event, the IKES scholarship scheme was launched to support students of Ghana from Undergraduate to the PhD level. A beneficiary of the scheme, Marcarious Moorkereh Tantuoyir of the University of Ghana leaves Ghana next week to pursue Medicine and Surgery in the Republic of Iran.
