Police in Bekwai on manhunt for the killers of a Journalist

Police in Bekwai has launched a manhunt for the killers of a 30-year-old journalist, Ama Agyeiwaa Kodie who was gruesomely murdered in her room.

The deceased who is a broadcast journalist with Bekwai-based Dess Fm was reportedly stabbed to death on Sunday night in her room by unknown assailants at her body has since been deposited at the Bekwai government hospital pending an autopsy.

Bekwai Municipal Police Commander, DSP Edward Obeng Boateng had confirmed the incident and disclosed that investigations have since commenced into the incident to unravel the perpetrators behind the dastardly act.

“We have launched full-scale investigations into the matter and stepping up security measures in order  to arrest suspects for possible prosecution”, he confirmed in a telephone interview with MyNewsGH.com

“With your support and the public, we will arrest anyone involved in this criminal act”, the Commander assured residents and the bereaved family of the deceased

The deceased who resides at Mr Bentil’s building (Green Annex) in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region, was found dead in a pool of blood at about 6 pm on Sunday and it is believed she was stabbed with a sharp object on the chest.

General Manager of the station who confirmed the unfortunate incident to MyNewsGH.com on Monday and said he received information that her colleague had been found in a pool of blood as a result of an attack by unknown assailants.

“By the time I rushed to the scene, she had already been taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. I could see the blood on the floor of her room which suggested someone stabbed her but until investigations are complete I cannot tell if it was a knife or a sharp object”, Gordon Donkor disclosed
