Prof. Joshua Alabi, a Natioal Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful has called on his followers and the NDC family to remain calm and united as the party goes through the re-organisation process.
In an interview with GhanaNewsOline.com.gh in Accra, he was hopeful that after the re-organisation, the NDC would come out stronger n 2020 to grab power from the ruling NPP.
“I am confident that if we are able to unite as I have said before, with the former President Rawlings, former President John Dramani Mahama, former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, past chairmen and other executives, including leading members of the party, the NPP will not have breathing space. We shall win the elections 2020 with God on my side,” he stated.
In his Christmas message to NDC supporters who thronged the campaign office and Ghanaians at large, he said “the enemy is not within but the enemy is outside so we should unite and fight it”.
Also, he charged everybody to &celebrate the Christmas in moderation to avoid any calamity to the NDC family (NDC) or any Ghanaian; because everybody is needed to contribute to the development of mother Ghana when NDC takes over the reign of governance again in 2021&.
Addressing the teeming party supporters, the NDC flagbearer hopeful anticipated that next year would be difficult for them due to the campaigning across the country to canvas for votes ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
In a related development, he promised to ensure politics is reduced from MONITICS back to real POLITICS, Prof. Alabi said it is worrying that politics has been changed to monitics for somebody to go against his/her real conscience instead.
He defined ‘MONITICS’ as “the use of money to influence people to go to think to a direction or a cause”; “but when you use your credibility and the ability to influence people then you are doing politics; and that is what we are going to do during our rounds, we are going to do politics”.
Prof. indicated that the project to snatch flag-bearership would not be an easy task, he however added that surely he would succeed; using the Biblical story of David and Goliath as an example.
He was optimistic that with God at the centre of his campaign he would take up the leadership of the NDC going into the 2020 elections.
