A soldier with the 66 artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Sakyi, is currently under investigations for assaulting two auto electricians in Ho.
Narrating their ordeals to journalists, Bright Kokoyi and Sedem Agbesi said the soldier came to their shop in search of spare parts for his vehicle. They advised him to bring along the damaged spare parts for easy replacement.
According to them, the soldier took offence and threatened to beat them up. They said, after a while, the said Lieutenant returned to the shop in a taxi cab and ordered them into the said taxi. He took them to the quarter guard of the 66 artillery regiment and subjected them to life threatening beatings.
The two whose health conditions are not stable after the beatings have since reported the incident to the police in Ho.
Sources close to the military command hinted that, most soldiers who were present at the time of the incident described the action of Lieutenant Sakyi as unwarranted.
