“Mr. President, enough of unnecessary continual promises, fix your sick economy and carry out the earlier promises you made to Ghanaians,”the Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organier of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madam Felicia Mekpoi Bortey has charged President Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to her, President Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo made lots of unprecedented promises in the run-up to election 2016, which won him the heart of Ghanaians, but he has done far less than one-third of what he (Nana Addo) promised, but is still going round making promises again.
At a get-together with her colleague Women Organizers from the various constituencies across the Greater Accra Region, Madam Felicia Bortey further accused President Akufo-Addo of creating more hardship for Ghanaians contrary to what he promised people ahead of the elections.
“I want to draw the attention of the Nana Addo led NPP government to the fact that Ghanaians are hungry due to high cost of living, price of goods and services, especially, food stuffs are becoming more unaffordable,” she stated. She said more young graduates are all over the place wandering for jobs.
She opined that insecurity in the country which was at the control level is seriously creeping back with greater fear, and today the security men and women are not being spared of the attacks. Madam Mekpoi Bortey further added that for the breakdown in security armed robbers have now taken a centre stage in the country. She charged the NPP government to walk the talk and stop the rhetoric in its quests to confront the menace.
In a related development, Madam Felicia Mekpoi Bortey charged the women’s wing in the region at the constituency level to encourage more and provide platforms to the young ladies in their constituencies in a bid to prepare them for future leadership.
Speaking on the theme; “Uniting With Love For Reorganisation”, she said young ladies in the various constituencies must be factored in whatever activities that goes on in the constituencies to enable them learn the leadership skills.
Former female Ministers and seating female MPs in the Greater Accra Region, the Wome Organisers and the teeming party followers thronged the party Regional Party Head Office to grace the event.
On her part, Mrs. Ocloo, the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osu Doku, donated clothes to the women for their hard work during the 2016 elections.
She urged the wome organizers to put aside their differences and work harder than before to help bring back the NDC to power in 2020.
