The Prof. Joshua Alabi Campain Team has registered their protest over an alleged broken of the ballot paper seals in the cause of transporting electoral items for Saturday’s elections.

At a press briefing in Accra, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Keta Constituency, Richard Quarshigah, alleged that information reaching Team Alabi indicated that seals holding the ballot papers are being tempered with in the cause of transporting them from the NDC Head Quarters in Accra to the 275 voting centres across the country.

To this, he accused the party’s Election Directorate of trying to rig the election in favour of a particular candidate, and this he said could affect the beauty of the flagbearership election which is currently underway.

The MP who is also the Campaign Manager for Prof. Alabi further accused the Election Directorate of deliberately issuing to them their agents accreditation in the evening of Friday and expecting them (Team Alabi) to distribute to their agents in other regions ahead of the election on Saturday morning.

The Campaign Manager indicated they have registered their misgivings to the party concerning some of these and other violated rules going into the Presidential primaries today.

He further alleged that as at Friday evening, some elements were going about bribing delegates with cash amounts so they would vote for a particular candidate during the primaries on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

“This cannot be a good signal for free, fair and transparent presidential primaries when the party itself would not entertain such violation from others who might engage in similar acts,” Quarshigah lamented.

Team Alabi is however optimistic of winning the presidential primaries, following the weight of their message to the delegates during their campaign tour.

The Keta MP urged the delegates to vote massively for Prof. Joshua Alabi to enable him deliver power to the NDC in 2020.
