Voltic Ghana Limited (Voltic) hosted members of Institute of Financial and Economic Journalist (IFEJ) at its Akwadum Factory in the Eastern Region to celebrate shortlisted applicants of the Annual Flamingo Awards.
The event was part of Voltic’s sponsorship towards the fifth IFEJ Flamingo awards held on 14th December 2018.
Speaking at the IFEJ – Voltic Media Factory Tour, Public Affairs and Communication Manager of Voltic, Joyce Ahiadorme mentioned that, Voltic is proud to work with Journalists especially members of IFEJ who work tirelessly to bring newsworthy stories that enable business decisions while bringing to the fore areas of opportunities for businesses to impact deprived communities.
She stated “Our mission- to refresh Ghana every day while making the country a better place for all is translated into our sustainability priorities dubbed THE 3Ws- Women empowerment; Water Stewardship and Waste Management. The 3Ws demonstrates Voltic’s commitment towards creating a greater shared opportunity for the business and the communities we serve across the value chain.
In 2018 alone, Voltic empowered over 900 women directly in its value chain,2 of such are widows currently have a source of economic gains through the women empowerment programme. Voltic has also provided 3,000 pupils in 6 schools with potable water in 5 regions in Ghana. Through the I recycle programme recently launched with its partners, the Company is helping manage its post-consumer waste in a sustainable manner.

At the end of the programme, each participant recommended areas of improvement for the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility/ Sustainability priorities – The 3Ws.
As a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa committed to leading the industry to help collect and recycle a bottle or can for every one sold by 2030, Voltic is looking forward to accelerating its plastic waste collection and recycling efforts with various industry players in Ghana in 2019.
