Ghanaian silver screen diva, Yvonne Nelson, has sent a clarion threat to President Akufo-Addo over the current wave of power outages in the country, promising to organize and lead a demonstration if the so-called ‘dumsor’ in the country does not stop.

To hit home the threat to the President, the thespian invited herself to Akufo-Addo’s Twitter handle and declared that she had hang the sword of Damocles over the President over ‘dumsor.’

“#DUMSORMUSTSTOP !!!! We are gonna hit the streets soon if it doesnt stop! @NAkufoAddo,” she tweeted directly to the President.

It is not clear what the celebrated Ghanaian actress considers a satisfactory timeframe within which dumsor must stop, but the threat is a an uncomfortable déjà vu on President Akufo-Addo.
This is the same Yvonne Nelson, who made the current President’s predecessor, John Mahama unpopular in 2015, with her very damaging ‘dumsor’ vigil, when the Mahama government was grappling with a similar power crisis.
Ms Nelson had charmed down a galaxy of entertainment stars to the level of ordinary mortals and led them in a march was too star-studded for the media to ignore. That march courted the NDC Government serious bad press over dumsor.
Eventually, the NDC would go on to lose the 2016 election miserably to the NPP, with Yvonne Nelson’s dumsor vigil, earning mention as one of the contributory factors to John Mahama’s undoing.
The silver screen star, who is also a very respected socialite effectively warned President Akufo-Addo of a Mahama-like treatment over dumsor if he does not crack his knuckles and produce a quick solution.
