Founder of The Jospong Group of Companies, Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has charged young entrepreneurs to be persistent in their efforts to succeed in business.
Sharing his experience on how he started his business empire during the 2017 Ghana SME CEO Summit, Mr. Agyepong told participants that, perseverance and consistency are key to his successful story today, revealing that, “walking and hawking in the hot sun is how my success story began”.
He said, setting your mind to the task and pressing forward regardless of the challenges and obstacles that may try to intimidate you, are the ultimate step towards success.
“I’ve roamed the streets of Accra selling stationery on my head, walking through everywhere.
So the starting is walking. I want to encourage everyone here to just have the mindset that you will be successful, whatever you are going through is the beginning”.
Currently, Mr. Siaw Agyepong owns several companies including the country’s largest waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, SUBAH Infosolutions and the Road Safety Management Services Limited.
He has achieved a lot including being featured on the Cover of the August 2017 edition of Forbes Africa.
He was also recently awarded Man of The Year, Business (Magnate Award) at the second edition of the prestigious Exclusive Men of The Year (EMY AFRICA 2017 AWARDS).
The award was in recognition of his contribution towards Business and Development in Ghana and Africa.
The maiden edition of the Ghana SMEs CEO Summit held in Accra dubbed ‘Digital Disruption: How the Digital revolution is Transforming SMEs has brought together hundreds of Chief Executive Officers, Business Leaders, Stakeholders, Investors, Service Providers, Regulators, Government Officials to discuss topical and trending issues: Business Opportunities, government policies, as well as the challenges confronting the youth.
The summit was to enable global and local CEOs to interact and foster knowledge acquisition, learning, partnerships and synergies that can help grow businesses in Africa.
