The Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshi Amanfro constituency, and also a member of the Works and Housing and Poverty Reduction Strategy Committees of Parliament has indicated that the Government’s Zongo development agenda is non-partisan, and by the time the country begin to see its result, it would stake a positive claim of all-inclusions for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said the country has reached a point in its political history that unity and peaceful co-existence is key to its development. He said Christians and Moslems are two major players in our national life, and it is incumbent on all and sundry that all efforts are geared towards unity and brotherliness.
He also said the government has the development of the Zongo community in Ghana, one of the most deprived communities in Ghana at heart, hence its dedication and commitment to the setting up of a fund and a ministry to that effect.
The Bortianor Ngleshi Amanfro constituency MP said this when the Ga-South Council of Zongo Chiefs called on him at his office and private residence at Amanfro on August 13, 2017.
On their part, the council of elders appealed for a Moslem Community Technical School, hospital and other amenities which have eluded their respective communities for a long time.
They also appealed to all Muslims to embrace peace and harmony, and resist the temptation of being used by politicians and the affluent in society to foment trouble aimed at satisfying selfish ambitions.
