The 2016 Parliamentary Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in Tema West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Peterkin Kwame Kin-Adano has appealed to comerades of the Nkrumaist fraternity to as a matter of urgency unite and rebuild the rich legacy left the party and country by it’s founder Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana.
Peterkin who was speaking to Ghananewsonline.com.gh noted that Ghana has suffered for far too long since the 1966 coup which he classified as subversion, alleging that the Conversation People’s Party has since behaved like the prodigal son who never know his worth and run away from his rich home. He said it is un-Ghanaian to neglect and point your left finger at your father’s house because it is a curse and as long as we do not want to be living in curse any longer they must make the founder proud by helping in the building of Ghana for generations unborn.
The former Parliamentary candidate who is lacing his boots to contest the national treasurer position of the party in their upcoming national executive elections blamed the current state of the party on the lack of good leadership. He accused the party leadership of being more interested in amassing wealth rather than building the party as outlined in the Party’s Constitution.
“I will not hesitate to blame the leadership for our misfortune, we have no credible party structures in place to lean on, they are only interested in amassing wealth rather than building the party, there has been no general meetings nighter do they abide by the Constitution of the party as they prefer picking people randomly regardless of who they are just to make up Constituency executive to enable those fake Executives to vote for them in Congress for something in their pocket then that ends the organization story,” he alleged.
He said such activities have naturally affected the party as it’s President and Parliamentary candidates struggle to meet their ambition without any active Constituency executives, compaign team, logistics or resources. He assured that such instances would be history if he is giving the opportunity to serve party as its treasurer.
The voiceferous comerades who has over the years never left any stone unturned in advocating for the reorganisation and restructuring is poised to introduce some needful programs making use of all important days to educate the electorates of the rich deeds of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame nkrumah, relunching the CPP in a recouncilliatory form, organizing mini durbars to exhibit the deeds literature gearing towards the restructuring of the party and making it more attractive.
“I have the capabilities and the necessary programs to change the current poor situation of our party to greatness, the foundation of the party is weak now and must be properly structured following the Party’s Constitution, I suffered during my parliamentary candidacy in 2016 when I contested the Tema West seat, I realized the need to get the party perform properly to save us the pains, hopelessness, shame and unpopularity the party has been bedeviled with all this while”.
Peterkin Kwame Kin-Adano called for peace and unity among the nkrumaist fraternity both young and old, the aggrieved and those who have crossed carpet and also bring together all those who believe in the ideology of Dr. Nkrumah to build a formidable party believing that the conversation people’s party will surely bounce back to rescue the country from it’s current state.
