A security officer at the Petersfield and Rey Group Limited, a factory under the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s flagship One District One Factory (1D1F) program, at Yesunkwa in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality (KEEAM) of the Central Region has been attacked by some unknown assailants on Monday dawn.
The victim, Richard Cudjoe, is said to be the only security man at post when the assailants went there.
Confirming the incident to ghananewsonline.com.gh’s Kojo Ata Kakrah Abrowah in a phone conversation morning, the administrator of the factory, Henry Gyambibi, said the attackers, believed to be residents from the area, struggled much with the victim and later made away with two car batteries after they had overpowered him (the victim).
“Yes, I’m currently with him at interbeton [Cape Coast Teaching Hospital] responding to treatment….. in fact, it is very sad,…they hit him with wood so his arm is fractured and the doctors are on him,” Gyambibi noted. He revealed that “fortunately, the CCTV cameras captured them. Though their faces didn’t appear clearly we will get them.”
The case, he said has been reported to the police.
Further up call to the Elmina District police, DSP Entsuah Annan, the KEEA Municipal commander of the service, confirmed the incidence and told KAKA that they had initiated investigations.
