Ghanaian Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has cooked for 200 hours now.

The Tamale-based Chef began her attempt at breaking the existing Guinness World Record for the longest cook-a-thon on the eve of the New Year in 2024.

The current record of 119 hours and 57 minutes, was achieved by Alan Fisher from Ireland, who set the record in 2023.

However, Chef Dorcus Mirembe, also known as Mama D, from Uganda broke that record on December 28, 2023, by successfully cooking for 144 hours. But even before her official validation from the Guinness World Record Board, Chef Faila surpassed that record by cooking continuously for 200 hours and still counting.

The cook-a-thon is currently underway on the premises of Modern City Hotel in the Northern Region of Ghana.
