2019/20 Ghana Premier League: Week 6 Match Preview – Medeama SC vs. AshantiGold SC

After tasting their first defeat of the season, Medeama SC will go all gun blazing on the weekend when they play as hosts to AshantiGold SC.

The Mauve and Yellows seek to bounce back from last weekend’s slumber at the Tarkwa Akoon park on Saturday.

Samuel Boadu and his lads have been phenomenal at home so far this campaign having beaten Hearts of Oak 3-0 and Asante Kotoko SC 1-0 already.

Medeama welcome back central defender Ali Outtarra Issouf who missed last weekend’s fixture due to a slight injury.

Left back Philip Osei is also expected back into the fold to face the Miners on Saturday.

Bright Enchill, Rashid Nortey, Eric Kwakwa and Ivorian import Kalibo Touissant remain sidelined as they are recovering from their respective injuries.

Bernard Ofori is in contention to make his first appearance of the season this weekend after rejoining the Mauve and Yellows about fortnight ago.

AshantiGold SC suffered a shocking home loss last week to Berekum Chelsea despite dominating the entire encounter.

They are travelling to Tarkwa with the intentions to get back to winning ways by inflicting a second defeat on the trot to Medeama SC.

AshantiGold are yet to lose at away this term and have also not conceded in their two visits to King Faisal Babes and Legon Cities FC.

They will have to protect that away form at the difficult Akoon park on the weekend.

Turkish trainer Kasim Gökyildiz will make his maiden appearance at the dugout to direct affairs after getting his working permit.

The Gold and Black outfit make the trip without top marksman Shafiu Mumuni who is on his way out of the club.

Key midfielder Abdul Latif Anabila is suspended for Saturday’s after being sent off in the last league fixture.

Prediction: Medeama SC 2-0 AshantiGold SC
