2024 Polls: You can’t break the ‘8’ without Kennedy Agyapong – Chairman Amankwah tells NPP

“A lot of Ghanaians are fed up with voting but if you meet 10 people today, they will tell you if Kennedy is running for President, we will vote but without him, we won’t ballot.”

Mr Robert Yaw Amankwah, former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that the party cannot maintain power in 2024 if Kennedy Agyapong is not elected flagbearer.

The NPP is poised to stay in government in 2024. It’s looking forward to electing a competent flagbearer to lead the party in ‘breaking the eight’.

Popular personalities such as Dr Bawumia, Alan Kyeremateng, Kennedy Agyapong, Afiriyie Akoto, and Kwabena Agyepong have all expressed interest in becoming the NPP’s flagbearer.

However, the former Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman believes that no other candidate can lead the party to ‘break the eight’ except Kennedy Agyapong.

Speaking to Oyerepa Online in an exclusive interview, Chairman Amakwah stated that, a lot of Ghanaians who have lost interest in voting are willing to vote should Kennedy become NPP’s flagbearer.

“A lot of Ghanaians are fed up with voting but if you meet 10 people today, they will tell you if Kennedy is running for President, we will vote but without him, we won’t ballot.” He said.

According to him, most Ghanaians have confidence in Kennedy Agyapong and therefore are willing to vote for NPP in 2024, hence ‘breaking the eight.’

He disclosed that Kennedy’s contribution to the party is enormous, subsequently, if delegates fail to elect him as flagbearer, they should forget about retaining power.

“Ghanaians have confidence in Kennedy so if NPP misses him, our party will have a big problem. We can’t break the eight.” Chairman Amankwah stated.
