The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo says Ghana still hold a chance of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco despite holding just two points from four games.

According to him, it is mathematically possible.

“It’s not over yet…Mathematically, there’s still a chance and we will give everything. We will prepare the team. We try to prepare them even better than before to reach our goals. I was really down after the match, to be honest, but now, like friends, family, you know, giving me a lot of confidence back.

“Now I’m back to myself and we have to try as much as possible to do our homework. In case we don’t lose, we should be there. So we have to prepare. We have to look closely. We have to analyse the next games from our players. We have to consider maybe some changes. We have to do everything. We have to turn everything around to bring the best squad to beat Angola.”

Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sudan on neutral ground on Tuesday after a draw at home.

This result keeps the Black Stars in the third spot on the Group F table with two points. They are behind leaders Angola (who hold 12 points) and then seven-point-wielding Sudan. Meanwhile, Niger sits in the base with a point they got from facing Black Stars.

Ghana’s next game will be against Angola away from home. Anything short of victory will dash hopes of qualifying for the tournament.

If Ghana fail to qualify, it will go down in history as the first in 20 years.
