In a significant crackdown on water-related offenses, the Mampong Magistrate Court has sentenced Sumaila Abdul Rahman to 12 months of imprisonment for his involvement in water meter theft. This ruling comes amid a broader effort to combat illegal water related issues in the region.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, Sumaila Abdul Rahman, a 23-year-old individual of mixed Ghanaian and Nigerian descent residing in Mampong, was arrested for the theft of water meters.

Following his arrest, he was promptly arraigned before the Mampong Magistrate Court on Monday, October 14, 2024, where Chief Inspector Richard Obeng Asare represented the prosecution.
