300,000km Expedition: Wanderlust Now In Spain

The group got to Spain using the Mediterranean ferry crossing, after driving through Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Mauritania and Morocco.

The group of Ghanaian tourism enthusiasts, Wanderlust Ghana, is in the port city of Algeciras in Spain after setting out on a 300,000km journey by land from Accra to Cape Town and back.

They set out in mid-September.

The group got to Spain using the Mediterranean ferry crossing, after driving through Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Mauritania and Morocco.

In a press statement on September 25, it announced, “Wanderlust Ghana’s latest expedition, the 30,000 km cross-country overland drive, which seeks to travel from Accra to Cape Town and back to Accra, passing through Europe and the Middle East using a three-vehicle convoy on 24th September 2024, safely arrived in the port city of Algeciras in Spain, using the Mediterranean ferry crossing, after driving through Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Mauritania and Morocco.”

The ongoing expedition is geared towards promoting Ghana’s tourism potential and encouraging visits to the West African country.

This is their second major road trip across three continents to Cape Town, South Africa, which they will complete in three months.

London Trip
The group rose to prominence and gained the limelight when it embarked on a remarkable journey from Accra to London, covering 10,000 kilometres by land to raise awareness about the digital literacy gap in Ghana and Africa and raise about $17,000 in support of that.

They started the expedition of driving from one continent to the other from Accra on Sunday, July 23, 2023, and ended their journey in London by Sunday, August 6.
