The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has marked the 8th anniversary of the death of ex-President John Evans Atta Mills at a well-attended ceremony at the Asomdwoe Park in Accra.
It would be recalled that the then President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills died on July 24, 2012, while serving as the sitting President of Ghana. This was after a short illness. He was buried on August 4, 2012, at the Asomdwoe Park.
Speaking at the ceremony to honor his memory, ex-President, and flagbearer for NDC in the 2020 elections, John Dramani Mahama said Ghana is crying for peace, unity, and justice.

All Ghanaians, according to him must be considered citizens irrespective of a person’s political association.
Commenting on the legacy of Professor Mills, he said, “in opposition, the late Mills fought for peace and in government, he governed with peace”.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama, therefore, called for the principles of peace and unity in Ghana.
