The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the now-defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold and Brew Marketing Consult, Nana Appiah Mensah also known as NAM 1 says he will meet his legal team and consider all the legal remedies to defend themselves.

According to him, they have always maintained that they are not guilty and that they still stand by that so they will explore all the legal remidies under the law for them to be declared innocent.

“We will go back to the drawing table to defend ourselves and get the court to proclaim our innoncent to the whole world. We will explore all the legal remidies under the law. I have to speak to my lawyers and come to a conclusion or otherwise. So when we exhaust all the legal remedies and it becomes inevitable that we need to open a defence, why not we are law abiding citizens, we are subject to the state, we are not above the state, we are humble citizens so we will gladly and enthusiastically open the defence.” NAM 1 said.

He said this after the court dismissed his application of ‘no case’.

“We thank the Republic for creating an enabling environment for us to be able to go through the legal process. We very much disagree but it is worthy of note that the disagreement does not in any way erode our confidence in the Judiciary and the court. I will speak with the defence legal team and we will consider and explore all the necessary rights to redress under the perimeters of rule of law.”

Speaking to the media, NAM1 and his two companies; Brew Marketing Consult and Menzgold who have been charged with 39 counts of various offences indicated that the ruling is a win for Ghana and rule of law.

“Is a win for Ghana, is a win for rule of law. We have always maintained that we are not guilty and we still stand by that and listening to the plenty ruling, certain keywords were very essential and were consistent. For example, there were words like presumption, we presume, it appears, it looks like, it seems. It is just like viewing it from the face value and not necessarily going into the face of the matter so I don’t want to also go into the merit and demerit of the matter.” NAM 1 added.
