Agenda 111 project to create 67,000 new jobs after completion – Akufo-Addo

Some 67,000 jobs are expected to be created after completion of the Agenda 111 Hospital Project according to President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

With a each facility employing over 100 people, President Akufo-Addo says the initiative marks a transformative trajectory in the country’s journey towards alleviating unemployment whilst providing quality healthcare for the people.

“There’s an average number of 120 workers on each construction site, and when completed, an average of 559 persons will be employed in a district hospital, 1,343 in the regional hospital, and 947 in each psychiatric hospital. This means that 67, 635 people will be employed in the Agenda 111 Hospitals,” President Akufo-Addo assured.

The Agenda 111 hospital project is a flagship initiative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government which aims to enhance healthcare accessibility across the country.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, marking the end of a prolonged delay in its completion.

The project, which was initiated in 2014, faced multiple postponements due to funding issues, leading to concerns from residents of the Adansi Traditional Area who urged authorities to ensure its completion.

At the inauguration ceremony, the President emphasised that the completion of the hospital was a testament to the government’s commitment to providing modern health facilities in accordance with current healthcare standards nationwide.
