Various Speakers Highlight Key Messages at NDC National Campaign Launch in Tamale Speakers at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national campaign launch emphasized the necessity of unity and hard work to secure a resounding victory in the upcoming December 2024 elections and steer the country back on the right path.

It was underscored that the NDC possesses the capable individuals needed to propel the nation forward, in contrast to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is fervently seeking to retain power.

The speakers each conveyed passionate messages directed at President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, security agencies, the Electoral Commission (EC), the youth, and other stakeholders.

Addressing the audience, General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey acknowledged the formidable challenge in reclaiming political authority but expressed confidence in the achievability of this goal.

He stressed the demanding work ahead and emphasized that the election battleground is now broader, encompassing not just the NDC and the NPP, but the entirety of Ghana.

During the launch event held in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, Kwetey explained, “The election represents a clash between Ghana and the NPP. It will not be easy to remove the NPP from power as they fear the consequences of potential prosecution for corruption once defeated.

Despite their resistance, we are committed to delivering justice after their removal.” National Chairman of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah urged President Akufo-Addo to ensure a peaceful electoral process, cautioning against exploiting security forces to intimidate the opposition.

He called upon security agencies to prioritize the country’s well-being over political interests and to display defiance against inappropriate directives. Similarly, the NDC campaign team’s chairman, Professor Joshua Alabi, confidently predicted the NPP’s defeat in the upcoming elections and reassured the populace that power transition to the NDC would be orderly.

Alabi criticized the current administration’s direction, asserting that Ghanaians must vote for a positive change in leadership.

Additionally, Member of Parliament Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, daughter of the NDC founder, emphasized the imperative of safeguarding the election process against external influence and corruption attempts.

She highlighted the significance of upholding democratic values by protecting the integrity of the voting process.

Lastly, National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi projected a change in government based on public dissatisfaction with the incumbent NPP government.

Emphasizing the need for readiness for change, he rallied support behind the prospect of an NDC victory in the forthcoming elections.
