Ablakwah, who is renowned for his tenacity in exposing corrupt practices within the government, has faced criticism and backlash from those implicated in his investigations.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 campaign launch in Tamale last weekend saw a notable highlight as Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu constituency, emerged as a prominent figure of the event. Known for his unyielding commitment to exposing corruption, Ablakwah received high praise from key party leaders and made a significant impact on the occasion.
During the launch, both General Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey showered Okudzeto Ablakwah with commendations. Kwetey lauded Ablakwah for his relentless hard work and dedication to the party, urging him to continue his exemplary efforts. In a lighter moment, Nketiah, affectionately known as General Mosquito, playfully referenced Ablakwah’s bald head, calling it “a good one” and requesting the DJ to play Bob Marley’s song, “Chasing the Bald Head Away.” Nketiah clarified that the reference was not a critique of all bald heads but a nod to the well-deserved recognition of Ablakwah’s contributions.
Ablakwah, who is renowned for his tenacity in exposing corrupt practices within the government, has faced criticism and backlash from those implicated in his investigations. Despite the challenges and personal attacks, he remains undeterred, embodying the mantra “Aluta Continua” in his quest for transparency and accountability.
In a related development, Joseph Kwame Kumah, the MP for Kintampo North, was honored with a commendation and award by Faks Investigative Services, an independent non-governmental organization. The award recognizes Kumah’s diligent service and consistent presence in Parliament since he assumed office.
Kumah expressed surprise and gratitude for the recognition, noting that he was unaware of the organization’s scrutiny of his parliamentary activities. He emphasized his commitment to his constituents and his punctuality in parliamentary sessions, which he believes were key factors in receiving the award.
“I am truly honored by this recognition,” Kumah said. “It strengthens my resolve to continue serving the people of Kintampo North with dedication and commitment.”
Both Okudzeto Ablakwah and Joseph Kwame Kumah have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their roles, reflecting the NDC’s dedication to transparency and effective governance. Their achievements highlight the significant impact that dedicated public service can have on both party politics and national development.
