Nigeria’s 4×400 men’s relay team has been disqualified despite finishing second behind France in their semi-final event.

The quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, Dubem Amene and Chidi Okezie ran a season’s best time of 2:59.81 seconds to book a place in the final.

The West Africans were, however, adjudged by officials to have violated the line-crossing rule.

They were, therefore, disqualified from the finals.
