The Senior National Football Team of Ghana, Black Stars, has suffered their first loss at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium since 2000.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium, located in Kumasi, has been a fortress for the team, providing them with immense support and energy. The team last defeat at the Kumasi across all competitions was on 6th February, 2000, when they lost to  to South Africa in a qualifying game, since then Ghana has gone unbeaten at the venue for the past 24yrs

However, yesterday’s match against Angola in the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers proved to be a different story.

The match, held in front of a packed Baba Yara Sports Stadium, was highly anticipated by fans and football enthusiasts alike. The Black Stars, known for their prowess on the field, were expected to dominate the game. However, Angola had other plans.

Ghana dominated both halves of the game, creating decent chances. Despite their best efforts, the Black Stars were unable to breach Angola’s defense. They created several scoring opportunities but were unable to convert them into goals. The lack of clinical finishing proved to be their undoing, as they were left to rue the missed chances.
